Pole Vault at the Track and Field Trials - Jeff Hartwig is 40, made the Atlanta games and missed the next 2 Olympics -- a lot of technique in the pole vault, but also a lot of pure strength and fitness.

Amazing. I hope that he wins a medal in Beijing.
Not too likely. He benefitted from people having not the best day and managed to slip in. Still, props to him.
Look for Teresa Vaill to make the team in the 20k walk. She is mid-40's.
