I am planning(of course, things can change) to swim the 800 Free atthe Colonies Zones Champs this August. I haven't swam this race since I was 16 and I have no idea what my time was. But, I am actually excited to do it. I feel that the 1500 is too long for me but who knows in long course. But, the 1500 is not offered at this meet.
What kind of time should I shoot for? I did a 5:13 in my 400 free two weeks ago and I should be under 5 minutes this season.
Another reason that I am swimming is to get a Top Ten time because people in my age group(30 to 34) made it with 10:30.
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Kirk,
My splits for my 400 free two weeks ago were around 1:14, 1:20, 1:21, 1:17. 10:30 to 10:40 sounds like a good time to shoot for. If I do any better, it will be a bonus.
