I am very NEW to swimming. (42 yrs old, average weight, moderately active 4x week in gym/exercise/biking for years). I started swimming laps-crawl about 4 weeks ago for 15 minute workout. I am now up to 50 minute laps-crawl. I really enjoy the swimming! However, a few days I started feeling steady pain/soreness on top of my feet/arches. I just have been taking tylenol and don't think about it. Is this normal for newbies? I think my form is okay with the flutter kicks. Any advice out there........would greatly appreciate it.

I have had all kinds of aches and pains related to swimming but not with the tops of my feet. I have never had a cramp there.
Does it happen with both feet?
You might try to stretch your lower body a bit more before you swim. Take more time/care warming up.
