Does anyone have an estimate of how much time one could take off of a 50 free or *** by driving from the blocks, as opposed to a start off the wall as in practice.
Are you assuming the swimmer uses a:
a. racing start or go start or
b. a push, roll or self start,
which eliminates reaction time and allows a slightly further dive
the difference should be between 1 and 2 seconds
diving from a block provides more
distance through the air and
speed upon entering the water
Fastest: Roll start off blocks
Slowest: Push start from a go
