General Cooperation proposal
Let me introduce myself: my name is Roberto Saladini; I am a Master in Genova Nuoto Team specialist in middle, long distance and open water events.
I was charged by Mister Brunello Graja, dean in our team, breaststroke World champion, founder of Italian Master Swimming Organization, and Beatrice Inghilleri, chairman of Masters Team, to launch a cooperation initiative with USMS. Teams .
Genova Nuoto is the oldest swimming Team in Italy. We have athletes in all Italian categories of agonistic events: Young, Adults Swimmers and Masters. Sometime we proudly provide someone of them to Italian National Swimming Team.
In Masters we have specialist for all age’s categories in speed, distance and open water freestyle, and, of course, in backstroke, fly and breaststroke classical events. Someone of them, Italian Champion. Our long course facilities are operative in winter and summer available for training six days/week.

1-Competition and Workouts
Providing a common list of main national and international competitions of our interests and time by time decide in which manner we can joint our efforts to participate.
Change our info about the workouts for Macro cycle, Micro cycle, in Midseason, Competition and Taper…dry land training (Weights, Flexibility…)
2-Facilities and Support for travelers Masters
Every traveler hopes to find a friend and swimming pool when abroad! More we can provide info for reservations, ground and air transportation and maybe services for your organization in Europe and same you can do for us in US.
3-Swimming Medicine
Nutrition, injuries prevention and treatment very important for young and old Masters
4-Organization
In Italy we don’t have Masters Postal Meetings like you in the US. Their creation would be a great chance to capture many others to our beloved and evergreen sport.

Do you know where ,in Italy, your friend had the open water events. It's difficult to find out from your message . Every where here you can find good food and good people ,special mention for the Swimmers........
I was fortunate enough to go to Rome about eight years ago and swim with some Italian teams, the names I can't remember now, but I ended up moving there in 2005, and stayed there for quite some time. I would be interested in hearing any further ideas or proposals you have. I also speak Italian fairly well (although not as fluent as I once was :() so if that's any help to anyone, I'd be willing to help with your proposal.
Posso provare a rispondervi in Italiano (siete davvero molto bravi) .Swimcat :tu sei Italiana ,di quale citta' ? Vieni spesso in Italia ?Ci sono molte opportunita' per nuotare con noi Masters Italiani .La stagione del nuoto in Piscina e' ora conclusa e ci sono gare "Open Water " in mare ....quasi una a settimana nei posti piu' belli d'Italia. Ieri ho partecipato ad una 5 Km tra Lerici e S.Terenzo in Liguria ,il 19 Luglio ,a Populonia ,Baratti, famosa per la storia degli Etruschi c'e' un'altra gara di fondo sempre di 5 km.valida per la qualificazione FIN e infine il 31 Agosto,la piu' bella, 8 Km.da Portovenere a Lerici si chiama trofeo Byron ed e' aperta a tutti i Masters nazionali e Internazionali.Insomma potreste organizzare quest'anno o quando volete una vacanza in Italia e partecipare .Se siete interessati posso pubblicare in questo Forum un calendario con le maggiori manifestazioni.......Se poi volete conoscere quello che facciamo qui in termini di Allenamenti ,Organizzazione ,Alimentazione, prevenzione dei traumi ed altri argomenti di Vostro interesse domandatelo pure in Italiano o in Inglese,se preferite.......grazie per l'interesse dimostrato.......
