So I have never started a thread before - but here is something I have not seen before.......
My FS Pro came today - and I was told to go slowly and put it on and that it could take up to 30 minutes...... is that for real??
I am at 20 minutes and I am stuck at the hips - for real!
It is the high neck body skin..... and if that zipper was about 2 inches longer I could probably get it over my hips and I wouldn't be standing here with my butt hanging out waiting for a reply.
If I don't stop laughing I may split something. I know the elite swimmers don't have real hips - but does anyone out there have any suggestions and How long does it take on average to get in one?
I'll miss all my events at nationals just trying to get the suit on!!!!
5. Do not use fingernails to pull the suit. Pull the suit up with the care that you would use with a delicate pair of tights.
This probably make more sense for women. Personally, I haven't worn tights too often :)
oh my
I suggest you gently stretch it out some
start at your back side slip your thumbs between your skin and the fabric and press the fabric out and lift it a little to inch it up to cover more
pinch on the seams
you may be able to inch it up and over
I just got a pro jammer and leg skin and will attempt tonight to put them on
the FS II stretches more
good luck,
Ande

Here's my advice, having ripped Pros before: Buy plastic gardening gloves to use in putting the suit on. Then you won't get unintentional finger nail ripping.
If it really took 30 minutes, I think I'd go up a size. I can't tolerate more than 15-20 without completely losing my patience. They are just not made for mommies at all. I've said before. They appear to be made for barbie dolls. Mine are always a bit big on top, although the high neck is much less so than the recordbreaker.
I had the same problem with mine. I am small from the waist up, but have what I call, "my mother's butt" :mooning:. I can get the suit up to my thighs, but not over the hips. Do what Rich said to get you to the thighs. Then step into a regular garbage bag that you have cut the bottom out of. Put the garbage bag around your waist like a plastic skirt. While wearing the plastic so that it covers your hips and butt, pull it up and over your garbage bag skirt. Then remember to reach in and remove the garbage bag. Yes, you will look silly in the locker room, but it won't take you 30 minutes either. I started doing this in Houston with my FS Pro and it worked every time. (even in all that humidity)
Did anyone mention wearing a plastic bag over each foot to start with ? That makes getting the leg placement a little easier too. Try this and I think you will like it. Then you just have to make sure you pack enough garbage bags for each meet. They can be re-used.
LOL!
This is a common problem. Even my 15 year-old has trouble getting the PRO over her hips (non-existent as they are).
Step 1: make sure the top of the suit is not all twisted aound. GENTLY pull the arm holes out and up just a little.
Step 2: pull the legs up as high as possible. Really. Make sure the crotch is in place.
Step 3: Make sure the body is not twisted in a bunch. Gently ease the material up. Slide your hands (palm side out) down the legs of the suit and ease it up like a pair of nylons.
These suits were not designed for Masters! It is worth the pain though. They also get easier to put on each time you do it. Perservere!
Oh yeah-
Plan ahead for nationals. Plan at least 30 minutes to get in the suit. The locker rooms can get crowded, but we're all doing the same dance in there!

Thank you - I will try again later!!! My kids bus was coming and I had to get out of that thing ....
I like the idea of the palms out.....that may get it done for me - I was afraid of putting a fingernail through the leg.

GUIDE TO PUTTING ON A FASTSKIN FS-PRO SUIT
Slow, step by step, no fingertips
1. Place one leg in the suit, making sure seams are correctly positioned.
*Note- The leg of the suit falls mid calf- roughly 5 inches above the ankle
2. Gently pull up the suit to just above the knee making sure the material is pulled tight and there are no creases.
3. Repeat the process for the second leg, correctly positioning seams and gently pulling the suit just above the knee, taking care to eliminate all of the creases.
4. Once the suit is past the knee on both legs, begin the process of pulling it up bit by bit alternately up each leg.
5. Do not use fingernails to pull the suit. Pull the suit up with the care that you would use with a delicate pair of tights.
6. Before attempting to pull the suit over the rear ensure that the legs have been fully pulled up to the top of the thighs and crotch.
7. Then hitch the suit up over the rear and arrange the top of the legs, crotch and seams of the suit so it is comfortable and fitting well before pulling the suit up and over the core of the body.
8. Any adjustments to the top of the suit need to be made to the bottom first. Always pull from the knee up to adjust the butt and shoulders.
9. Do not rush putting on the suit. Allow plenty of time to put on correctly.
Helpful Tips
*Wet fingers will help grip the fabric and pull up the suit.
*Adjust the suit from the knees up to the hips to adjust the shoulders.
*Make sure the crotch seems are high on the hip bones.
*If top of suit is too big then size down.
*Take your time!
Good luck,
Rich
