Why are they beginning the prelim heats that late? Given the number of swimmers and heats at these trials it should have been rolled back to 10AM if not earlier. Tomorrow's session will be especially tough given how long it might go and the three finals in the evening. That's already a tough double but with less time in between sessions it's not the ideal situation. It will be especially hard on the women's 400IM swimmers. They're going to have to swim lights out just to make the finals. You don't want to run such a big meet that congests prelims that close to finals. Given that they're going to have the night between in Beijing it's not really a good approximation of the Olympics either so the cramming isn't needed in that sense.
Can't wait to watch this at work tomorrow. I don't think that my company knows to firewall this site even though they firewalled ESPN.com due to the NCAA tourney.
400 Free is going to be great -- little disappointed in Klueh, he took it out slower than his 300 swim in practice --- maybe just a great practice swimmer ?
3:48 for La Tourette -- he is going to be right there in the 1500 ...
Check the first 50 *** split on Lochte -- 34.1 !!!
Lochte's br has greatly improved in the past two years. He split 1:09 this morning and he made it look easy. Great battles tonight.
The announcers just told us excitedly how one of the swimmers was wearing that great new Speedo LZR Racer, a really fast suit, but I am pretty sure she was actually wearing a TYR. That's gotta make the TYR folks happy. She did have a really nice swim.
It was cool to see Atiba Wade swim. I used to compete against him in my age group days. Of course, he was alot better than me but it is pretty cool that he is competing at the Trials at 30.
