I have made predictions before and they do not always come true. I predicted a lottery win, it did not come true. I did not win the $35,000,000 i hate living with dissapointment.

  • It's Go-Time (6/27/2008) The 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming begins Sunday in Omaha, Neb. Follow the action live on television and be sure to check out extensive coverage right here on usaswimming.org. All of USA Swimming’s biggest stars will be competing for a spot on the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team. The top two swimmers in each event, along with the top six swimmers in the 100m and 200m free, will punch their tickets to Beijing. Here’s what some of those stars had to say about the big meet at a press conference Friday in Omaha: “With the suits and this arena built for swimming, I think you’re going to see a lot of fast swims for the U.S. I wouldn’t be surprised if you see a lot (of world records) fall here. It’s a fast pool and a fast meet.” - Ryan Lochte, 2004 Olympian and world record-holder (200m back, 800m free relay). “In some ways, Trials are more stressful than the Olympics. As a swimmer, you dream of going to Olympics, but only two people make their Olympic dreams come true. There are two very happy people after a race, but there are six others who are not. The emotion is much higher at this meet than even at the Olympics.” - Natalie Coughlin, five-time Olympic medalist and world record-holder (100m back, 800m free relay). “Definitely the 100 and 200 freestyles, the 200 and 400 IM, 800 freestyle and possibly the 200 backstroke. I like swimming a lot of events. It helps spread the nervous energy out over several events rather than in just one. The 400 IM has always been my baby, but I kind of feel like I’ve flip-flopped toward the freestyle races lately. I will let the IMs happen and go wherever they go.” - Katie Hoff, five-time world champion and world record-holder (800m free relay). “This facility reminds me a lot of the one for World Championships in Melbourne (2007), and I have some really good memories from that meet. Hopefully, I will have good memories of this venue at the end of next week.” - Kim Vandenberg, 2007 World Champs silver medalist (200m butterfly). “I left Athens with a little bit of a chip on my shoulder, and I’ve been waiting for this meet for four years. I’m glad it’s finally here. I heard about (my world record in the 200m *** being broken) on a Sunday morning. I had just made a big stack of pancakes, and my dad called me to tell me that Kitajima had broken my record by a second. The fire brewed up in me. I was not angry by any means, but my competitive nature took over. I believe this couldn’t have happened at a better time for me.” I hated to lose it because it’s like losing your baby, and I definitely want to get it back. It’s time for a rebuttal. My attitude changed after the world record was broken. I was the guy with the target on my chest, and now he is. I’m a good hunter. I’m going to bring it. I’m excited about the opportunity, and I’m ready to get the crowd fired up.” - Brendan Hansen, five-time world champion and world record-holder (100m *** and 400m medley relay). “It’s definitely been a long wait. You wait four long years, and it’s finally here. I’m ready to race, and I’m excited about the event I start off with (the 400 IM). I love to win. I love to compete. I don’t consider myself a rock star. I see myself as the same person I was when I started swimming.” - Michael Phelps, six-time Olympic gold medalist and world record-holder (200m IM, 400m IM, 200m free, 200m butterfly, 400m free relay and 800m free relay).
