phelps will make everything he wants to and might even drop an event or 2 at the olympics to create a more manageable schedule
peirsol has phelps and lochte, both at serious threats and very capable backstrokers, phelps has an amazing last 50 in both the 100 & 200 back
phelps and lochte have deadly SDK speed
Lochte should make everything he wants to make,
most difficult for him might be getting top 6 in the 100 fr
Hansen should make both Breastrokes and I'll be shocked if he doesn't
Crocker: should absolutely make the 100 fly, even if he has an off swim
he should make it, americas 3rd best swimmer is just too far behind phelps and crocker
I'm curious to see if crocker can pop a fast 100 free and make the relay
i wouldn't count him out, he's only swimming the 100 fl & 100 fr
he hasn't shown great 100 fr speed yet
hope shanteau makes the 200 ***, think he's good for 208 or 2:09
should have the best 2nd 100
coughlin will make the 100 fr, 200 fr 100 bk, 200 IM and maybe 200 bk if she swims it
hoff will make everything she wants
zeigler will make the 400 & 800
I hope haley mcgregory makes the 100 & 200 bk
her 59.4 puts her in great standing for the 100
So, which of the following "locks" for the US Olympic Team won't make it? I'm thinking about historic shockers like Pablo Morales and Craig Beardsley. There are others not on the list that might be big surprises (eg, Vendt, Vanderkaay, Torres, Kirk, etc.), but not quite on the level as these world record holders.
Men:
Michael Phelps
Aaron Peirsol
Brenden Hansen
Ian Crocker
Ryan Lochte
Women:
Natalie Coughlin
Katie Hoff
Kate Ziegler
