I'm all for personality but Hall's isn't it for me. I don't think he deserves to even talk about being the Godfather of swimming. Overall with just tonight remaining - I think the trials have been disappointing. Maybe I succumbed to the hype. But I'm disappointed in the slow finals swims in particular. The LZR didn't produce a 2% drop. The swimmers at the top - who are at the peak of fitness, technical skill, etc. should show the clearest improvement from an equipment change. But maybe some are saving the bodyskin for Beijing? Up: Hoff, Phelps, Lochte, Lezak, Hoelzer, Beisel, Weber-Gale, Torres, Breeden, Peirsol, Stovall, Schmitt Down: Hansen, Sandeno, Crocker, Ziegler, Kirk, McGregory, KLJ, Walker, G. Hall, Komisarz, Klueh, Vollmer Neutral: Coughlin, Soni, Wildman-Tobriner, C. Jones Future: N. Adrian, Schmitt, Beisel, Hersey, Berens, Riefenstahl, Magnuson I've heard from more than one source that Hall swam a PB. Hard to classify that as down. The godfather of swimming thing was a cartoon IMHO. Wildman-Tobriner had a complete tendon tear in his shoulder December 2007. I would say he did incredibly well, considering the impact this placed on his training.
