  • 2 American's break :48 in the 100. Garrett Weber-Gale set american record! Phelps also breaks :48 Is Phelps going to swim this tonight? I mean he swam a final in the 200 Free and then did the SF 200 Fly in 1:54.02 so I think this double might be a bit easier. Granted there is risk because there is a final after a semi and not the other way around like yesterday but he could really challenge for a 100 Free American and maybe World Record tonight along with others. The opportunity is there and I believe he will take the risk and go for it unless he feels he could get beat by two guys like Tarwater and Stoval or somebody else. Remember he is not doing Relays here so he will be swimming less than what he will be doing in Beijing.
