The Couch Slouch on the LZR

Norman Chad, the couch slouch, provides his take on the Speedo LZR. www.chron.com/.../5700786.html
  • The cost of this swimsuit is $550, or twice the amount of my annual clothing budget. Agreed. Multiple is probably closer to 3 in my case :).

It would be a sight to see Shaq in a LZR....It would be a great commercial for Speedo....They could use something like "even the man of steel floats in the LZR"

This guy certainly thinks he's funny, but I'd rather hear from the real Dave Barry.
  • loved this article, it was funny "if applied beyond the pool, could extend most marriages by three to five years." The biggest downside? It can take a swimmer 20 minutes to squeeze into one of these babies for a race that might last 20 seconds. Then again, everything's relative: Joan Rivers spends 90 minutes in makeup for a 90-second TV appearance. "You can put Michael Phelps next to Shaquille O'Neal, and whether they are wearing Speedo LZR Racers or raccoon coats, Phelps is always going to swim a bit faster." CORRECTION to Phelps is always going to swim a LOT faster." than Shaq article wrote "At the Australian Olympic trials, Jess Schipper said the LZR filled with water as she competed in the 200-meter butterfly final, causing her to fade down the stretch." ande's comment: Bubbling is a serious issue, and could be the reason why some swimmers fail make the olympic team at trials or still make the team but don't swim as fast as they could have here's Jessi's Times maybe she just went out really hard and died Event 27 Women 200 LC Metre Butterfly === Preliminaries === 1 GALVEZ, FELICIT 23 SOSC 2:07.88 2:10.46A 914 29.49 1:02.36 (32.87) 1:36.60 (34.24) 2:10.46 (33.86) 2 SCHIPPER, JESSI 21 REDLL 2:06.39 2:12.03B 882 29.24 1:02.47 (33.23) 1:36.84 (34.37) 2:12.03 (35.19) === Semi-Finals === 1 GALVEZ, FELICIT 23 SOSC 2:10.46 2:10.56A 912 30.01 1:03.02 (33.01) 1:36.79 (33.77) 2:10.56 (33.77) 2 HAMILL, SAMANTH 17 QUADP 2:12.22 2:10.80A 907 30.36 1:02.71 (32.35) 1:36.82 (34.11) 2:10.80 (33.98) 3 SCHIPPER, JESSI 21 REDLL 2:12.03 2:11.17B 899 29.19 1:01.67 (32.48) 1:35.76 (34.09) 2:11.17 (35.41) === Finals === 1 SCHIPPER, JESSI 21 REDLL 2:11.17 2:06.82A 995 27.41 58.77 (31.36) 1:31.91 (33.14) 2:06.82 (34.91) 2 HAMILL, SAMANTH 17 QUADP 2:10.80 2:07.61A 977 29.76 1:01.25 (31.49) 1:35.22 (33.97) 2:07.61 (32.39) 3 GALVEZ, FELICIT 23 SOSC 2:10.56 2:07.67A 975 28.70 1:00.48 (31.78) 1:33.58 (33.10) 2:07.67 (34.09) from links at: www.usms.org/.../showthread.php
