Hulk and I just shook internet hands on a 50 free Nationals gridge. The winner will be whoever gets the bigger time drop from Zones. That's a 2.28-second advantage for him.
Anyone else gridging in Austin?
Yeah, I thought I recalled that you'd gotten substantially faster.
No sandbagging here, that's my real time from last year at Federal Way, and I haven't been faster since.
Of course, I'm hoping I'm much faster now, but somehow the races I actually swim in the water always turn out to be a wee bit slower than the ones I swim in my head.
Game on.
We should alert Messr's Matysek, Gill, & Copeland et. al. that we're going to need a beer garden on deck, what with all this gridging.
I hate the 50 free at the moment. :bitching: Plus, as I recall, you are due for a big drop as your 50 fly is almost as fast as your 50 free. That's a suckers' bet, lady.
Drop from seed time in 100 fly? Although I think you'll be killing your seed time in that race too ... Although, since our 50 fly times are so close now, we really should just race straight up!
Straight up race the 100 fly? What are you on??! HELLS NO! I will go time drop from state/zones to nats in either the 50 fly or the 100 fly or the 50 free. No straight up racing as you will smoke me - THAT would be a sucker's bet.
I almost challenged Fort to a "drop in seed time" gridge than realized it's a sucker's bet. She's the biggest sandbagger around. :thhbbb:
Ack. Cut that out. I just closed the Sandbagger's Club thread. My Nats entry times are either faster than I swam at zones, my time from the last time I swam the event or within Osterber's 5% rule. The big sandbagger in my age group is Sue Walsh.

I didn't even ask for a granny handicap! OK, we'll go with time drops from our 100 flys times from zones/states. Still think that's a bad bet for me because you were WAY underperforming based on your 50 time!

You know I'm just messin' with you.
I see your 50 free is only 0.3 faster than mine. Shall we go for time drop or head to head?

You can't ask for a granny handicap while still able to kick my *** up one side of the pool and down the other. Time drop works. I am a sprinter ... my 100s suck ...

Um, hate to tell you 100s are still sprints. I find myself starting to enjoy the pain of 100s. Yeah, I'm damaged.

Hey, now...former UNC swimmers are, by definition, virtuous and pure. The very opposite of you sandbaggers, in other words. :)

What's the LC WR holder doing with those slow SCY times?! I see no conversion tables were used ... lol
I knew you were gonna get slammed on that one, FlyQueen. Of course, said commenter has yet to swim the "sprint" 100 fly.
I am not gridging the 50 free with anyone. I just realized that all my fast 50 frees were not swum in bulkhead pools, so I am attempting to rid myself of headcase-itis before Smith has a chance to lecture me.

This is definitely true. :D No picking on Sue!
(Back to lurking since I'm not going to Austin)
