I'm just curious, how much on average does a pool membership cost (annually)?

City of Calgary annual pool pass, good for 12 pools around the city (most 25m, some with weight rooms), just under $400 a year for adults, about $500 for families, approx. $150 for 65 and over. (They increase the price a little each year to adjust for inflation, hence the approximation)
The YMCA facilities (25m) are variable, with the older ones costing just a little more than the city pool pass, and the luxurious downtown Eau Claire "Y" starting at about $500 and going up to over $1000 for executive memberships.
The YWCA is about the same, but with a somewhat confusing fee structure that I've never figured out. It has the most under-utilized pool in town, probably due to the steep drop-in fee. A pity, because it's close to all the big downtown hotels.
Talisman Center, near the Stampede grounds, $699 per year for adults, $459 for over 65. Has three pools, so there's always one open for lap swimming, but it's usually the oldest one, and there's usually a bulkhead dividing it into 2-25m sections, so not much chance to swim a full 50m.
