Buck Dawson, age 87, founder & Director Emeritus of the International Swimming Hall of Fame, passed away yesterday, April 4, 2008. Buck was a friend to many, many swimmers and I feel very fortunate to include myself in that group. I always looked forward to meets in Fort Lauderdale because I got to see Buck! He did so much for swimming. He wrote several books ranging from swimming topics to volcanos to World War II. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the International Swimming Hall of Fame of Camp Ak-O-Mak. He was a great man and I know many of you have fond memories of Buck.
