I recently got a copy of the document attached below and it astounded me. I know that there is widespread disagreement and rancor on this Discussion Forum but I was completely unaware how far up the chain it went.
Sad day for USMS indeed.
The earth is not a sphere; it's flat. How else could the swimming pools stay filled? ;)

And worse: if Earth were a sphere (or oblate spheroid), all the records would be meaningless, for some would be struggling swimming uphill while others were zooming downhill.
Of course, it could be uphill both ways... and if on side away from sun, through ice.

I just got a call from some friends in Lubbock, Texas. Just when I thought I heard it all--this comes along. Texas Tech is going to bring back BOTH men's & Woman's swimming....and of all people Bobby Knight has asked to coach the Men's team.
This is the best news I've had,get Bob Strand's name out of the USMS record book, also no more 200 BR against Clemmons. If he wants to be the Mexican champion thats fine with me.

I'd get over that notion real quick Allen, Mike Moore's just off his meds. :wine:

For crying out loud. As an IU alum, I was hoping to persuade Bobby to come to Granby to coach our master's team. We are all about his age and there are dozens of chairs on the deck...
Even as we speak a small group of visiting USMS members are holed up on Alcatraz. Apparently PMS has given them seven days to vacate before they start shelling the island. A sad day indeed!
