It's too bad that he didn't give an example of a well known "swimming dog", or come out and just say that training swimmers that way just doesn't work.

How is Ous an example? Doesn't he train with Dave Salo?
Just a conjecture based on what minimal second hand info I had overheard. I have no info on Salo's training methods...
I was hoping to get somone to suggest a more concrete example of a "cat" successful in the distance event realm, as it does not seem possible. Obviously, an example would prove it to be possible.
