I'm having one heck of a time finding reviews on swimming watches. Maybe you all can help me nail down which watch I should buy. Here's what I'm looking for:
- Split time keeping
- Underwater alarm (maybe not specifically called an "underwater alarm", but any alarm I can hear underwater)
- Water proof/resistant to 50m
I'd really appreciate any advice that anyone can offer.

Timex makes a zillion different versions of their "Ironman" watches. They are rugged and dependable, and cheap. You can find them at places like Wal-Mart and Target, usually in the range of $30.00 - $50.00.

I can certainly hear mine when my ear and the watch are both underwater at least. In fact for the last week one of the women has been using hers for the intervals and it is a bit annoying because even from across the pool it sounds as though it could be my watch going off.
My only wish would be for the interval timer to not go for so long, I think it beeps for 10s. It makes me feel self-conscious.
My dream watch would have a detachable finger touch sensor so it could start and stop without pressing a button. Actually I look forward to the day when every lane has a personal touch timing system with video built in as a matter of course. When you consider the cost of a web cam these days it's almost insane that they don't already.
