A lot of buzz about Sullivan, but Bernard lowered his PB by 2 secs in less that 2 years, impressive muscles.
France have 4 mens with mid 48s or less ( 1 47.60), not ever the great USA can match this one todays.
All of them out of nowhere...
After The French fries... French Juice ? :) :)
Great race by the way. VDH out, Magnini out of sharpe, tomorrow look a walk for Bernard to win the gold medal.
The guy is huge.
The preconceptions we have of people are very curious. I had never seen a photo of him and for some reason or other imagined him to be less muscular. Well defined, but more wiry and of smaller frame. But he is a brute, isn't he. His shoulders are enormous. All the better to power him through the water with. He has a similar upper body build to Magnini but even bigger.
The 400 (or 4x100 as they like to say) free relay should be very interesting in Beijing.
Alain seems to have a fairly traditional stroke. The short segment they showed underwater it didn't look like he used a very high elbow position. It seemed like his arms were almost straight.
Yup I noticed that too and on replay it looked like his right arm had a very slight elbow bend (not EVF and not EDF by any streatch) and his left arm was even straighter. Yet his arm recovery looked very smooth.
