In my case it looks like about 23-24 seconds (my aerobic threshold measured in practice is around 1:19-1:20, and my 100 yard free time is somewhere around :56). I'm trying to set up a poll to gather some information.

I never gave it a thought. When swimming the marathon races you judged your swim times by who you raced and how fast they were swimming. The secret is not how fast you swim hundreds but can you win the race. Your pace changed many times during a race. Water temperature, wave action and tides control everything. Some times you go as fast as you can in order to bury another swimmer. Some times you draft of that swimmer to save your own strength.
