Just wondering if any of you can recommend a competition suit (women's--breaststroke as primary stroke) that doesn't cost and arm and a leg. I am getting back into competition but am not training nearly enough to justify spending $100+ on a suit. Is there something in between the pricey Fastskins and the cheap old lycra suits that anyone else wears?

i dont know about price. but just by an aquablade suit. it was the fastskin of the 80's basically. it's used in all of our teams suits that the school buys us.beter than plain old suit but tons less expensive than a fastskin.
Aquablade was not released until the 1996 Olympics.
While the Aquablade fabric may not be as technically advanced as the FSII and LZR, and it's fit is more akin to a standard suit (i.e. no flex panels or contours).
I agree that it's a great alternative to the higher end suits. Most competitive swimmers I know will size down 1 or 2 sizes in a Aquablade that's used for racing purposes......
