Hotel Pool Ideas

I'm traveling and doubt I'll be able to find a good pool to work out in for a week. Our hotel looks to have a "lap pool" which looks to be about 15 yards or so. At least its straight and the ends are flat. Any ideas for training in a bathtub? (Floyd, I know you're an expert at this).

  • I use the short pools to work on drills and turns.Often the pool is too sort to do a full breaststroke pullout so I break it into section-first turn push off streamline, second no push and do the pulldown immediately, third pushoff with hands down and go into the kick to surface.Breaststroke pull head up drill works well in a short pool as does eggbeater kick sprints. SDK down and back underwater is another good drill.I also do things like one arm pull no kick,or if I'm feeling coordinated one leg at a time breaststroke kick.If you have a drill you think might help or be fun a short pool is a great time to try it.
