This reminds me. I have a statistics project due. That and i think we could disprove the stereotype that all swimmers are super tall, and lanky.
I just want your height, wingspan, and weight if you'd like to post that, this will help me out a lot, and save me some time.
also inches and pounds as units please
Wingspan= fingertip to fingertip with arms straight and level.
I'll start.
Height 6'3 (75 inches)
Wingspan 6'6 (78 inches)
Weight 173 pounds.
I'll compute the averages, and standard deviation and all that juicy math stuff in a couple days or when i get about 15 entries. I'll keep it ongoing if the thread gets posted in as well.
Ok so far here is all the stats, including everyones stats above this post. Even that 7 foot persons stat, he is obviously our maximum value for height. I have a very strong and probably right indication he was joking but i factored him in for height anyway. however that arm span is way out of wack so i excluded it.
the average height of swimmers (both genders) is 70.91 inches so roughly 5'11. and the average measurements fall within 6.6 inches of that. so our average swimmer is between 5'4 and 6'5. Now obviously that stat standard deviance will gt smaller as we get more numbers.
For wingspans the average is 72.92 inches so 6'3. and the average measurements fall within 5.02 inches. so the average swimmers arms fall within 5'8 and 6'6. it'll shrink same as above.
I'll leave weight out for now because of all the different body types that people have. If you post stats after this and say your main stroke i could calculate that as well if you'd like. this gets my assignment done, and it's also pretty interesting.
I'm a mesomorphic short sprinter. :weightlifter: Main strokes: back and fly.
