It's been happening every year since I started Masters in 1993. In March I start to wonder who might show up at Nationals and what they will swim. I anticipate the psych sheets to see who I'm competing with, etc.
That being said, wouldn't it be nice to know before mid-April who is going and what they're swimming. Granted it shouldn't really matter who is there as we all have our own goals, but I think it relieves a little anxiety to know. So why not early this year?!
I'll start. I'm going (just made plane reservations). I'm thinking of:
100/200 ***; 200/400 IM; 200 back, and the 100 as number 6 (which I'm positive we won't get because I think this meet will be HUGE). I'm not at all sure of what times to enter yet (that whole baby thing!)...
We have a lot of Creekers going: Patty Landers and Jill Fusari are my roommates, the O'Briens, the Santos', and I'll know more after our meeting!
How about you?
Walnut Creek has an "associate member" membership. You could swim on some record breaking 75-79 year old relays I bet :) Our older folks usually win their relays at nationals too.
I'd love to call you teammate (insert heart smiley here!).
