Beijing just opened their National Aquatic Center 2 weeks ago. It's a very interesting work of architecture. en.beijing2008.cn/.../index.shtml Here's a video of the interior. en.beijing2008.cn/.../index.shtml No 'Race Club' style starting blocks...yet.

  • In a similar vein, why do they have starting blocks in Lanes 0 and 9 if nobody uses them to race? (Yes, OK. For warm-ups and practicing starts but don't they have another pool for that? :p ) I'm sure there are plenty of meets that would use all 10 lanes for competition. The Olympics won't. But plenty of age group, masters, etc., meets would. -Rick
