Australian Eamon Sullivan swam a 21.56 50m (LCM) to finally break Popov's record set back in Moscow in 2000: www.smh.com.au/.../1203190655692.html news.google.ca/news He went on to swim 48.11 in the 100m.

    The question is whether the body suit is the deciding factor in the World Record. The answer is coming this summer. If the time standards are significantly lowered in the sprinting events, it might be a good assumption that the latest suit technology influenced the results to some degree.
