My 14 year old daughter just recently swam a 50 freestyle at 24.55. Unbelievably she took 9 breaths!!! Doesn't that seem like a lot of breathing for a 50? Does anyone have any imput?
thanks,

You're welcome.
From my take on this...the grab start is slower in terms of reaction time & hitting the water...but the force generated from the two legged push makes it an even entry when they breakout. (This could start a whole new thread.)
But anyway...Lane 4 is a little smaller in height than the other girls. (This could be why they got some more distance at the entry.)
And if you really want to see a good race...her 100 back was exceptional...www.youtube.com/watch
That was really nice. Very inspirational to watch. I practice with a gal Haley Chura (recent UGA Swimmer Grad) who does exactly that kind of SDK.
Back is her best stroke. She qualified for Trials this year.
