Speedo has released their "new and improved" suit. Below is a link to the story at swimming world, with quotes from various swimmers about "how it makes em feel"

As much as I like body suits... I just can't see buying a "new and improved" style until they quit making the older models.
But I bet some 10 year old will have it for a b-c meet before long.

for suit deals - beyond swimoutlet.com, etc. - try ebay. from time to time people offer suits, not worn & with tags, for sale. just yesterday a speedo long-john went for $40 + shipping. check it out!
well it isn't going on sale until May 2008 (according to the article, but July 30 according to speedousa.com), so for us Masters folks, we'll get our first chance to see it first hand at Summer LCM Nationals.
I wonder whether I'll see it this weekend. Check out this psych sheet:

c'mon you know it's not just the kids...
Perhaps the marketing could be:
"Give us your flabby, your slow, your overfunded masters yearning for fast free..."
:D
I'm with you George - I'm not looking to set any world records when I swim. I just plodd along hoping to get from A to B in a timely manner. I swim in the traditional speedo competition suit, sometimes even a practice suit to meets. Nothing special.
However, if the suit makes you feel faster and you think you need the extra advantage that the suits claim to give you - by all means, go for it.
How do you say: Different strokes for different folks??
The high-neck version goes for $550. That's way out of control, considering it's a disposable item with marginal benefits, if any, over the alternatives. I'm sure a lot of wealthy people will buy it.
