I'm going to New York this weekend and am wondering if anyone has used the pool at Chelsea Piers. I've heard some mixed reviews.
Any feedback?
Thanks!
Sydne
I would LOVE to swim at Asphalt Green. Everything I've heard has been amazing. Unfortunately, I have 8 a.m. meetings at the Javits Center every day, and am staying on the West Side. Somehow, it seems unrealistic to make it to an upper east side workout, even at 6 a.m., and then make it to the Javits for an 8 o'clock. If I seem wrong about that, please, please correct me.
One of these days, however, I will gladly take you up on the offer Patrick. My mom lives on 136th street, between Lenox and Adam Clayton Powell, and when we go down to see her, swimming with you would definitely be an option.
Crazy though this is, I'm actually going to swim tomorrow at 4 a.m., before I leave for New York. And then, when I get there, if Chelsea Piers doesn't work, I guess I'll be running. (There is a JCC right near my hotel, and I've been trying for years to figure a way in there! I even pulled out the, embarrassingly enough, competitive athlete in training and can bring a note from my coaches thing--but to no avail. Perhaps that should be on the you know you're a swimmer when---you're willing to misrepresent yourself if it means the chance at a good workout in a nice pool!)
Thanks for the feedback! And yes, I long for the day I can swim in what I've heard is the best pool in the city!
Have a great weekend,
Sydne
