While my personal view is that trash talking is unnecessary and counter productive,none the less it seems some good natured trash talking is beginning in the kicking thread.Since not everyone is interested in how important kicking is,but everyone is interested in the S(he) Man/Knelson battle of the Titans,not to mention the Muppet/Fort demolition derby,I thought it should have it's own thread.So,go ahead,make my day.

As an aside: 35-39 is just a BRUTAL age group in this event in the women! The top three OVERALL 200 back times came from this age group. Yow!

I was doing a studly workout at GMU (including 4 x 400 IM) -- where you should have been instead of doing a few meager laps at the crack of dawn.
Not swimming both the 50 and 100 back at Albatross. I am much too diverse a swimmer to do nothing but backstroke, backstroke, backstroke. You and Barb need to get a life! Why, I have two team records in breaststroke. :weightlifter: And I really wish SOMEONE would do something about the order of events for that meet. Utter discrimination against sprinters.
Diverse meaning that you can swim a 50 of all four strokes?
Were you wearing fins for those 4 x 400 IM? I would be surprised if you weren't.
I can swim more than backstroke....I do think that having a good 50, 100, 200 back and 1650, 1-mile, 2-mile, 5K, 10K and 8-mile free is diverse enough! And in 2006 I was even known to hold my own in a fast heat of the women's 400 IM at zones, an event you won't swim without fins.
But, I'm just a "puny" girl with a broken foot who continues to get picked on by a "diverse" sprinter. I hope I'll be able to kick and push off the wall by Albatross. If not you're going to have to wait until zones.

apparently they were really ugly. I was gasping for air practically the whole race, but as Warren says, THE CLOCK DOES NOT LIE.
might I add that Mr. Roddin banged out a 54 in that same heat, going on to finish 2nd overall - showing a bunch of collegiates (and tweens) who's boss!
