So, I see a few of you already into your 2008 SCY meet schedules. So, I got to thinking...I wonder who's going where this year?
This might be a great way to plan to make some new friends (drinking)/have some fun (drinking) with old ones once again...dang my (drinking) key is sticking again.
So answer the following questions and let the fun (drinking) begin::party2::drink:
1. What's your zone, LMSC, and club?
2. What meets are you planning to attend?
3. Are you going to Nationals in May?
Okay, I'll go first:
1. Dixie Zone, Georgia LMSC, Unattached
2. Meets:
- Auburn Masters Invitational, Auburn, AL 2/16-17
- St. Patrick's Day Invitational, Atlanta, GA, 3/15-16
- GA Northern Divisionals, Athens, GA, 3/28-30 (*USA-S meet)
- Gary Eaton Memorial Invitational, Atlanta, GA, 4/25-27
3. No to Nats for now. The Gary Eaton meet is my taper meet.

Nope, invitational = come one, come all. So c'mon down...You're the next contestant ...:joker:
Glider, I'd like to do St Pat's. Its an Invitational. Do you have to qualify or be on a team that is invited?
Bill
There's probably some guy in the 75-79 group I can take down...
I'll be doing 50 back just for entertainment value again too!
I finally had a backstroke start where my feet DIDN'T slide down the wall at the start. :woot:

Mermaid,
Is your AMS LMSC, Allegheny Mountain? As in Pittsburgh, my hometown (actually, the burbs of Plum Borough/Penn Hills/Monroeville.)
I tried to look around for you, but all I found was some info through the Lake Erie LMSC http://www.lelmsc.org/.
The Lake Erie site listed "Allegheny LMSC (Team Pitt site)" www.psc.edu/.../tpa.htm under its "Swim Links."
Sorry, that's all I got...
Mark
(I'd say go Pirates! But, well...you know...15 years of losing wears on you.)
Thanks Mark - I was getting a little cranky because I couldn't find things in my area. That's why I asked folks to post the links to the meets they were talking about.
I might be able to make something . . . hmmmm . . .
as for the Pirates - cheap tickets to take the kids to the games - they see some great teams that don't wear black & gold, eat peanuts & cracker jack - does it really get any better??
Mermaid,
Go here: www.usms.org/.../lmscwebsites.php
Click on your Zone and LMSC web sites and root around for meet/competition info.
Good luck.

That's a good concept, but so far it looks like there is only 1 meet scheduled in Arizona this year:

I'm sure there will be more as the time gets closer.

you all mention the meets - where can we get links to the info about the meets and logistical stuff. Some are listed here under the calendar section, others are not. Help us navigate to meets close (proximity) and abuiltiy and timing.
Jim: You are on buddy. 50, 100, 200...best 2 out 3 for the 2007/2008 season.
I'm guessing pretty much even up, right? And the winner gets...:thhbbb:
Sure, I'm up for some gridge matches in any of the BR events. Looking at last year, you had me beat in the 50, while I led the 100 and 200. We could pick any one or go for all thee. It also looks like you're ahead in the weight category too. You said in another thread you went from 200 to 178 this year. I've gone from 226 down to 184 so far. My new goal is to lose 1/2 a Jayhawk, which if successful would get me down to 173.
Alan: You know I figured you two would chime in. Ummm...LCM...my bane. I haven't done it in 20+ years. Don't intend to start this year so it will have to be SCY...
Even up with you, too? What shall we race for in 2008?:duel:
Of course I'll do BR any distance, any course, but 100 BR LCM is my favorite.:banana::banana:
and the IGLA Champs will be SCM as well.
Damn, I was hoping for a LCM and was told it was one. Good thing I found out as I was getting ready to start training for it as well. I'm still hoping to go, I'll find some different events.
I'll also be doing the Albatross and Colonies meets.
Sorry, SS, my 9yo daughter isn't eligilble to swim masters yet, maybe move on to your 2nd choice? :thhbbb:
