Dive start versus in-water start times

My pool does not allow any diving so all my times are based on starting in the water. I've been trying to figure out how much time (if any) a dive would shave off my times. Anybody have any idea? Say I swim the 50 in :30, what's your guess as to what the time would be if I could dive at the start?

You won't really know until you do it. It depends on how good your start is, whether you shave or wear a special suit, and how you usually time yourself with a pace clock. And of course we can't forget psychological factors, as aquageek mentioned in reference to me. By the way, geek, I often do about a 24 in practice and my best race is a 21. Super psych up, indeed.
