Since my recent avatar picture is the turn, I figure I'd might as well share my 2 cents on the subject.
Coming into the wall your head and torso should attempt to line up with a 45 degree angle to the back wall and bottom of the pool. (Keeping hips, legs, and feet close to the surface) This deeper upper-body position makes it much easier to get the hips and feet "spinning" over the top. As soon as the hips have crossed the "tipping" point, then your head and torso should go immediately in the opposite direction (closer to the surface) while your feet land on the wall in a semi-extended state. Hi Lindsay!!
That video is good and fast...
This is the one I was watching when I wrote the article...
www.youtube.com/watch
plus, this one is a "must" see
www.youtube.com/watch
Incredible how the "Inspirational" post has gone up and up... eh?
I was surprised, so I linked it directly on my signature, just for good
measure.
PS Thanks again on your video comparisons of butterfly, it's
really helped my times... butterfly has not been my strength...
Getting my head and torso deeper at the top of the stroke while
keeping my hips and kick "elevated" through-out, this seems to be the
key... This, combined with the breastroke should really help my IM...
Also, writing a new "exclusive" motivational article for mymsc is
on my "to do" list...
