Toe bone spur surgery or not?

I've been putting this off for years - I have two nasty bone spurs on both feet--my orthopedic dr. is aweseome - many coworkers have had surgery from him. However, I'm a big baby when it comes to pain in the feet - had double surgery a couple of years ago - gallbladder and appendix removed with no problem or pain. But I hear so many people complain how painful foot surgery is. Besides that, I will lose some mobility of the big and little toe. Then there's the time out of the pool. I think he's just shaving down the toe - can anyone share their experience re: pain and time lost in pool if you've had this surgery? Thx so much. Oh, the pain flares up when I play tennis or run, swimming no problem, and I can't wear heels, but I really don't care about that.

Do you have a bump on your heel where the Achilles tendon joins the heel or do you have a bunion on your big toe? Spudfin

Do you have a bump on your heel where the Achilles tendon joins the heel or do you have a bunion on your big toe? Spudfin It's a large lump directly under the big toe on top of the foot. Not a bunion - it's a bone spur. And now I have one on the baby toe where I recently fractured that toe.
