What is a good reaction time?

I'm looking forward to a meet where they do this so I can learn my time. I've always been a slow starter. I start with both feet on the block edge. I'm afraid of false starting so I'm always cautious. Does a track-style start have a faster reaction time but you can't push as forcefully?
That's the general train of thought yes. I really think it's mostly personal preference though, except in a 50. Ian Thorpe always started with both feet up.

That was a really neat perk of doing nationals this spring. I *have* notoriously slow starts, and I don't know if it was just the environment or knowing the reaction time thing was there or what, but I was pretty consistent getting off the blocks - and definetely not the slowest... so my starts aren't as bad as we all thought they were.
