Paul's swimming blog

It's not going to be as interesting as Ande's but I realized when I was powerlifting 10 years ago that this is the best way for me to track and evaluate my progress so here it is.

I think you could argue that some of the best distance swimmers are faster than the best sprinters.... look at the first 50/100/200 of the best 1500m, 400m, 800m swimmers. It's pretty dang close to the top times swam by the sprinters in their 50/100/200...all things considering--like the fact that they have another 1000m+ to swim. I can't really say anything because I am/was a sprinter for so long...but I definitely have a new respect for those distance swimmers that go out in their first 100/200 as fast as I swim my individual 100/200 and keep nearly that pace for the entire race...I'm a long way from being that much of a distance swimmer:laugh2: You're right. It's not a good plan. Never happen. Others have tried and failed. Distance is overrated; speed is awesome. Take care of that heel! That sux.
