I'm trying to learn the quick turn. Somedays I do it perfectly, and other days it's like I've totally forgotten how to do it. I love the feel of it. Any suggestions?

I believe the kick turn and quick turn are the same. It's when you get to the end of the pool and you do a somersault and flip to go in the other direction and you kick off the end of the pool. It's nice and smooth if done right.
Great demonstrations. Any verbal instructions. I seem to use my arms more than I should. IT looks from the demonstrations, that you lead with your head? I also tilt to one side and end up coming facing the side of the pool vs. the direction I need.

I assume you're refering to the flip turn. Keep practicing it. I went through the same thing when I learned it about 5 years ago. It took about a year before I started hitting the turn consistantly.
What is a kick (quick) turn? I'm familiar with flip turns and open turns. I sort of
assume tumble turns are the same thing as flip turns, but I've never heard these
other two terms.

Facing the side of the pool isn't such a problem so long as you use it to your advantage.
My tumble turn is very much a right-about turn so I come out of it on my right side facing the left side of the pool.
To make use of this I streamline with right hand below left and kick on my side until my first stroke which is made with the right hand.
Driving my body into a rotation with the hips helps to make the first stroke even stronger and gets the body-roll started.
No doubt this will work for some better than others, but it seems to work for me!
