Here's a thread for the ladies to discuss anything that relates to women and swimming. For example, feel free to discuss how disgustingly ugly fastskins are, how the "curse" can kill a meet, how suits don't fit, how swimming wrecks your hair, how hormones unhinge you, etc.

Tankinis may not be flattering, but MUCH easier to wear for a day at the beach instead of a one piece. Sadly, too old and 'pouchy' to wear a regular 2 peice at my age......
fort, try the 2 piece splish. i wore a splish bikini to the beach and it was a hit. i could also swim in it and took the straps down to get rid of tan lines.
Yes. On me at least, the ClubSwim "tankini" (with the longer top) leaves just the wrong amount of distance between the bottom of the top and the top of the bottom. I think it would make even Dara Torres look as if she had a muffin top. Also, while swimming in light surf it flops all over the place, risking exposure. If you care about keeping your top on you should probably pick another top.
I'm more interested in the one-piece suits. They look like a carbon copy of the Speedo and Tyr styles. But they're only $19.95, AND they're polyester. Has anyone worn one of them?
Buying swimsuits for vacation is much more stressful than for meets! :notworking:   Although a FB swimmer friend recommended this suit, and it's cheap and not bad! www.swimoutlet.com/.../4741.htm Any other recommendations are appreciated. It has to not make me look fat and not fall off when body surfing or diving. lol
(But at least you don't have to worry about rips.)
I find it really difficult to find a suit for leisurely purposes - so I just get more fun prints from Speedo, Nike, TYR... the axcel back suit is what I tend to get. However, go to www.speedousa.com - they do have some cute fashion suits and...
FREE SHIPPING ON ANY ORDER RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell that I'm excited?
On another note, I do want to get that Nike Cut-Out suit that has been mentioned a few times here... but I need to get my butt into a little bit better shape.
The Cut out Nike suits are cute and run big. I'm really long in the torso, and normally take a size 30 in Speedo and Tyr and my likely Nike size is a 26. I tried on a 30 at home and my husband commented - you can't possibly bend over in that... and he was right. I think my male teammates wouldn't mind in the least but the hubby didn't think it should see the light of day, so it got returned.

:laugh2: Thanks for the tip! My regular poly Nike suits already show some cleavage, so I could only imagine what the cut-out would do.
