Here's a thread for the ladies to discuss anything that relates to women and swimming. For example, feel free to discuss how disgustingly ugly fastskins are, how the "curse" can kill a meet, how suits don't fit, how swimming wrecks your hair, how hormones unhinge you, etc.
Do any swimmers wear heavy make up? My daughter gives me a high five when I bother and lectures me on skin care. Other than being a lipstick/lipgloss addict, it's a big day when I put on mascara. Perhaps this must be what comes from not working in an office?
Are any other women bummed about the FINA tech suit ruling?
I've tuned FINA out. What is the latest on the tech suit rulings?
Definitely comes from not working in an office everyday. I have to teach on MW, so these days I actually have to put some on or I might scare somebody. On the other days and after class? I think the teachers at son's school have yet to see me in anything but workout attire and sans make-up when I pick him up at school. Most already think I'm a chronic workout freak, so wouldn't want to change the impression.
I've seen some young swimmers (teenaged girls) pretty made up at meets. I confess as a teenager, I even used to do it myself. That changed in college because the rest of the team was not going to wait on you to put on your make-up! Getting something to eat was the priority!
