Women's Locker Room

Here's a thread for the ladies to discuss anything that relates to women and swimming. For example, feel free to discuss how disgustingly ugly fastskins are, how the "curse" can kill a meet, how suits don't fit, how swimming wrecks your hair, how hormones unhinge you, etc.

  • Funny the differences in the generations. I went on a trip with my grandmother at 13 and we shared a hotel room. When I went into the bathroom to change, my grandmother gave me a big lecture about being too modest. She considered extreme modesty a character flaw. My other grandmother thought I wore too much make-up and told me that only the very insecure felt the need to wear heavy make-up. Their generation went through the Depression and WW II, so guess they figured out there were more important things to worry about. Do any swimmers wear heavy make up? My daughter gives me a high five when I bother and lectures me on skin care. Other than being a lipstick/lipgloss addict, it's a big day when I put on mascara. Perhaps this must be what comes from not working in an office? Are any other women bummed about the FINA tech suit ruling?
