Here's a thread for the ladies to discuss anything that relates to women and swimming. For example, feel free to discuss how disgustingly ugly fastskins are, how the "curse" can kill a meet, how suits don't fit, how swimming wrecks your hair, how hormones unhinge you, etc.

A few nights ago I was in the locker room, getting dressed after my shower. I overheard an interesting/saddening exchange. A grandmother was there with her granddaughters, and was chiding them to cover up their bodies as they moved from the shower stall to the changing stall, a distance of about 10 feet.
"Kids today," she complained to me. "No modesty."
"Modesty?" I asked. "It's a locker room. What's the harm?"
"I was raised to keep covered up," she replied. "I hated the locker room. I thought everyone was looking at me."
"Uh-huh. So you want to pass that along to your granddaughters? There's nothing wrong with our bodies, and there's nothing to be ashamed of."
She looked at me like I'd spoken to her in Klingon (with no subtitles) or something, and walked away to continue giving her girls a solid foundation in negative self-image.
