Women's Locker Room

Here's a thread for the ladies to discuss anything that relates to women and swimming. For example, feel free to discuss how disgustingly ugly fastskins are, how the "curse" can kill a meet, how suits don't fit, how swimming wrecks your hair, how hormones unhinge you, etc.

Heather, I too hope you feel better. I need some good 40s stories!! If you are having bad experiences in your 40s, I hate to see what I'm going to encounter. :toohurt: Aww, it doesn't have to be so awful! I think that being a swimmer, you're already likely to have a better time of it than most people--or at least better than you'd have if you had the activity-level of the average woman. I really dreaded turning 40 myself. But it's been grand so far. I've had 2/5 of my babies after 40, and I've enjoyed the whole process and the babies themselves in a way that I couldn't when I was younger. Thanks to all the years of good fitness habits, my figure is as good as ever, maybe even better, and yet I spend far less energy worrying about it. I have more patience, more confidence, more common sense (wisdom?), and I know how to use my time better. Perhaps I have just a little less physical energy than when I was younger, but these other things more than make up for it. I still feel like a kid when I'm riding my bike down a steep hill, or listening to a new album. And s-e-x is the best it has ever been. Now that I'm halfway through the 40's I admit that I'm getting nervous about turning 50.
