Hi there, first time posting, just found out about this wonderful forum. I learned about French girl Laure Manaudou using a 2 beat kick to swim 400m. But the clip on youtube is too fast i couldn't figurt out which leg kicks goes with which stroking arm. Does anybody know? Is it the opposite leg kick with the stroking arm? Or is it the same side? Thanks.

When you kick this way aren't you actually throwing water off to the side as you twist? It has always seemed so ackward to me.
There is a swimming garu who suggests to kick that way. I forget his name.

This reminds me of Kate Ziegler. I'm no expert, but someone mentioned how she only does the six-beat on the final lap. There must be a reason for her doing a two-beat the other 1450 meters of this world record swim:

...but if that was good, this one is Epic (snivel):

As you know I am a six beater, I found this from a very old post coachesinfo.com/.../wg3-img1.gif
Well, look at cars: there is a market for 4x4:s but front wheel drive is adequate for the majority of people. Every time I do the 4x4 version of swimming, the engine stalls!
I just found out about Kate Ziegler's record in the GMU alumni magazine. I think it's great how Mason's athletics programs are doing, first the basketball team getting to the final four in 2006, now this.
Ah, I see now that she is a pro she can no longer compete for GMU.
