I thought y'all might like to see this. If you don't know who Tex is, think about him every time you do a flip turn. He was a great man, and if you ever saw him swim well into his 90's he was an inspiration to watch and know.

When we swam together last, a few USMS Nationals ago, I told Tex that I had been a music student at Texas from 1946-49, but was too involved with my French Horn practicing, playing, and tutorship to try out for the swim team. I was just out of the army and far from home in Indiana. Tex's reply was WE NEEDED YOU FOR THE RELAY! He was a great guy, but my favorite coach there was the, then, 90 year old Professor of Greek who was the tennis coach. His name might have been Pinnick.
Burnet Texas is a fine small town and they host the Tex Robertson invitational high school meet every fall at their indoor pool. Tex's other grandson swims for Burnet High School. Great kids, great family, and huge to central Texas swimming.
