I had a hernia operation two days ago. Ouch.
I asked the surgeon when can I get back to the pool and he said in a month. This seemed a bit draconian and I thought he was covering his :mooning:
I asked a nurse and she said two weeks which seems reasonable.
I wanted to ask: do any of you guys have experience returning to swimming after a hernia operation? Any tips for me?

I too had hernia surgery this year in March (double). I didn't realize that I had one. It was detected during a colon examination and later confirmed by the "cough" test. My surgery was laparoscopic. I missed 10days of swimming. I think the recovery time for the non-laparoscopic surgery is longer. Good luck. :wave:
