Dara just one the national title in the 100M Freestyle in 54.4 at the ripe old age of 40. Simply Incredible. :applaud: :woot: If that's not inspiring I don't know what is.
  • I would have to have proof positive to accuse anyone of wrong doing, not like so many others here who accuse without proof positive. George, this is getting ridiculous. She tested positive beyond any reasonable doubt. This is proof. (Although OJ is sure glad he got jurors who think as you do.) How it got in her system is absolutely not relevant, by the rules she is responsible for every molecule in her body. The plain fact is, her performance was enhanced and two young women were cheated of their spot on the Olympic team.

Just wanted to see this thread come back for a while!!!!!!:dedhorse:
  • She must have had something that gave the test results but rather then all the palavor about what she did wrong I would like to hear how it got into her system. Floyd lives! Vive le Landis! You've 100% lost it.

Medication can put a lot of athletes in jeopardy. It has happened to many by taking something that is not considered illegal and does not appear on a banned list but gives a false reading. Do we call them cheaters if the medication is not on the banned list or the item they take has been taken by many without giving a positive reading. I will still wait until this whole things runs the course. It may be that Hardy will still be able to compete. If she is really banned before it runs the course I feel she will have some great civil action to take to court against the medication maufacturer or even the Olympic Committee. I don't understand this position at all. 1. Clenbuterol is a banned substance. Unless the tests of the A and B samples were in error Hardy had this banned substance in her body at the Olympic Trials. 2. Clenbuterol cannot be prescribed legally in the USA. It is not currently used to treat asthma or any other condition. 3. Hardy has not denied that (1) above is true. She has said she didn't cheat, but she didn't define what cheating might mean. Even if Hardy somehow proves that the substance got in her body by accident she raced at OTs with a banned stimulant. She did not race her opponents fairly so Hardy's swims should be disqualified. An accidental ingestion of clenbuterol should only help her avoid a suspension.

Late bloomer can be dangerous, but only in the hands of the unskilled.

Noodling? When geek started swimming, he used a foam floating "noodle" to support himself as he slowly meandered to and fro, across the pool. As unfair as it might have been, geek took a lot of flack for that learning process. :2cents:
  • Have you ever heard of a coach who slips stuff into their swimmers Am I the only one that read that and thought of a suppository? :) ...without the swimmers knowing about it. OK, that would be tough.
  • Is there any proof positive there are any clean swimmers? No and there never will be. It is unprovable.

Geek is also a noted 'late bloomer' and demands special recognition for his unique feats.
