Dara just one the national title in the 100M Freestyle in 54.4 at the ripe old age of 40. Simply Incredible. :applaud: :woot: If that's not inspiring I don't know what is.

Ha.... Well, actually, I was hoping to move down the food chain to the 50 and the 100, with the rest of you wimps! But, I'm still searching for those fast-twitch muscles that somehow keep getting away from me.
  • Oh man, you are gonna fit right in. Hopefully we can find someone from Texas who isn't such a crying whiner about everything. We can't take many more girlie Texas boys so hopefully you will balance out Jean Daisy Buttercup Smith. Having grown up in Texas, as a boy, I am offended by this! Texas is the state where men are men, and the sheep run scared!!! I would be interested to know what Dara's VO2 max is as well as that of some of the younger and more versatile swimmers. Namely Phelps, with his SDKs off of the last turn in the 400 IM. If I ever learn how to swim the backstroke and fly well enough to swim a 400 IM, I may well just do an open turn on the last one so that I can catch my breath!
  • You are such an elitist...some of us here can't afford nice toys as we are stay at home, non-dads who spend all our time trying to bash Title IX, working mom's, Rush Limbaugh-Alan Combs and glamorous/fast people that we are actually really just jealous of because we never were good enough...so some of us in middle age (not me) get tattoo's trying to relive what little glory days...but because we are so miserable in our pathetic lives we come here and try and be "understood" but end up getting PM's from the moderators about being political..so we really have no friends here either...but we'll still got to nationals and taunt each other and in some cases win beer bets because we really hate our families we can't afford for not letting us train full time and teach TaeBo... OK..to much coffee...time to grab my (wifes) push mower and clean up the 10' x 20' piece of lawn we haven't torn out yet so we can find the dog bomb's. Is it taper time yet? Drug test, Jim!
  • Our society is money-driven and we are now paying the price. Until the last year or so, it has been all about who has the most - the biggest house, the biggest car, etc. All these take money and to get it, you've got to work your butt off or do something illegal. In our society, making money has gotten to be the big priority while time with the family has gone out the window. Huh? Perhaps this is why it is wise not to become unduly wedded to convention and Cervelos.
  • Ha... he's not my type. You on the other hand are looking mighty purty in that pic! Isn't that you on left? I think I should stick with my Title IX defense mantra and lay off the jokes in poor taste. I guess I fell off the $7K trike one too many times.
  • Hey John! You'll have to spot me a couple seconds on that 100. And, as far as my guns? If they ever get as big as Dara's, you know I'm juicin'! Say Hi to Tori. Seriously, you two need to get a room, over at the Stick It Inn. Paul might be getting jealous of this extramarital flirting.
  • Loser shaves his head. Nothing stopping you from shaving now.
  • Wow, this is an interesting turn in the "saga of Dara" here. first of all, I think it's ridiculous to assume she isn't spending enough time with her daughter. How the heck do we know that? Lots of women have full-time jobs and still make lots of time for their kids. I bet Dara is at home more than most of them are.
