Dara just one the national title in the 100M Freestyle in 54.4 at the ripe old age of 40. Simply Incredible. :applaud: :woot:
If that's not inspiring I don't know what is.

Dara's stock really went up, not only on her chances of getting gold, but also as a person. Pretty cool how she asked the judge to wait for Therese.
Very good, but that's what a mature mind does--understands the occasion. Win or lose the Swedish girl got to race and can remember that she left it in the pool...not in the locker room b/c of a busted zipper!
Of course Dara may have just wanted a full race so she could undoubtedly beat them.
Hey, I'm not even a yank and I'm rooting for Dara tonight!
Another hundredth of a second separation between gold and silver.
Speedo will be needing a new face. I could look at Ms. Torres for a while.
Grant Hackett silver in 1500! (does he have his own thread?) followed by Ryan Cochrane bronze; Tunisia (name I can't remember) takes gold. Tight race.
Australia is putting all their gold medal winners on postage stamps. I wish USPS could find a way to get around no-living-people, maybe sell it as a special edition, add extra fees for fancy packaging.
Aha! One can make one's own postage stamps, and it's perfectly legit! Sadly, all the good images of swimmers would be copyrighted.

I'll sell you a few real cheap!
There was a 50+ cyclist from France in the road race today.
Jeanne Longo? She's the same age as me, so she's just turned 50 this year. Dang, should have stuck with the cycling!
There was a bit on the CBC coverage last night about a 50 year old female fencer who won China's first gold medal ever in the 1984 games and is now a Canadian citizen competing on our team. :canada:
