Those are two words that define Ian Crocker: class and dignity.
My heart goes out to him, not just as a fellow Texas Ex but as a fellow human being. Those kinds of things have happened at lots of nationals. I'm surprised the referee didn't overturn the DQ, knowing what happened. I would have.
On another note, if I were Eddie Reese, I wouldn't be training Ian to react to a flash. Not only does he realize how dangerous that is now, but what if you're at a meet where the flash isn't so obvious, like an outdoor meet where the sun outshines the flash?
But in either case, Ian's done at the meet. I'm sure he's going back to Austin ready to gear up for next year.
