At the Pacific LC Champs this weekend they were preparing to run two to a lane for the 800 Freestyle event. Not sure if they got the required number of timers but the intention was there. I wonder if that is something that is permitted at a nationals swimming event?
I believe that is mentioned somewhere in the rulebook as ok.
However, for a championship meet, that is a pretty :censor: way to swim those races. If there are some pool time limitations, they should leave that event out of the program, or limit it to the first x # of people signed up.
We're hosting zones in August, and while I'd love to get the full program in, it just ain't happening in our timeframe.
